Historic First: Federal Jury Convicts Nine on Domestic Terror Charges
For the first time in American history, members of Antifa have been convicted on federal domestic terrorism charges — and it happened in Texas.
A federal jury in the Northern District of Texas found nine members of the North Texas Antifa Cell guilty of rioting, using weapons and explosives, providing material support to terrorists, obstruction, and attempted murder. The convictions came after a 12-day trial that included 45 witnesses and more than 210 exhibits.
What Happened
On July 4, 2025, the ICE Prairieland Detention Facility in Alvarado, Texas was ambushed by nearly a dozen assailants equipped with tactical gear and weapons. One officer was shot and injured in the attack. Days later, a Border Patrol official in McAllen, Texas was also shot and injured in a related incident.
The Convicted
The nine convicted defendants include Cameron Arnold (also known as Autumn Hill), Zachary Evetts, Benjamin Song, Savanna Batten, Bradford Morris (aka Meagan Morris), Maricela Rueda, Elizabeth Soto, Ines Soto, and Daniel Rolando Sanchez-Estrada.
An additional seven individuals previously pleaded guilty to providing material support to terrorists: Seth Sikes, Nathan Baumann, Joy Gibson, Susan Kent, Rebecca Morgan, Lynette Sharp, and John Thomas.
Sentencing
The sentences are steep. Benjamin Song faces a minimum of 20 years to life imprisonment. Most of the others face 10 to 60 years in federal prison. Those who pleaded guilty face up to 15 years each.
The Bigger Picture
The convictions came six months after President Trump officially designated Antifa a domestic terror organization — a move that followed The Center Square asking Trump directly whether he would make the designation amid rising left-wing political violence. Several Antifa cells in Europe have since been designated foreign terror organizations.
Attorney General Pam Bondi didn't mince words: "Antifa is a domestic terrorist organization that has been allowed to flourish in Democrat-led cities — not under President Trump. Today's verdict on terrorism charges will not be the last as the Trump administration systematically dismantles Antifa and finally halts their violence on America's streets."
FBI Director Kash Patel echoed the commitment: "Today's verdict shows the FBI remains committed to identifying, locating, and dismantling Antifa and its funding networks across the country. Acts of violence against our law enforcement partners will not be tolerated."
This is the first domino. With a designated terror organization label and a federal jury willing to convict, grassroots Americans should expect more Antifa prosecutions in the months ahead.
