Legacy Media Is Running Iran's Propaganda for Them — Here Are the Facts They Won't Tell You
Iranian missile attacks down 90%. Drone attacks down 95%. Air defenses eliminated. But CNN says Trump didn't plan for this.
The Media vs. the Military: Who's Winning the Information War?
You'd think the American press would at least try to get the basic facts right during a military operation. Instead, legacy media outlets are running stories so misleading that White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt has become a de facto media fact-checker — a job she shouldn't have to do.
The ABC Drone Panic
Last week, ABC News ran a story claiming the FBI warned California police that Iran wanted to launch offensive drones against the West Coast. The post got over 19 million views and triggered widespread panic. The problem? The report was based on a single, unverified tip — and ABC left out the word "unverified" from their coverage. Leavitt called them out publicly. ABC issued a correction, but by then the damage was done.
The CNN Planning Lie
CNN reported that the Trump administration "did not plan" for Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz. Montana Senator Tim Sheehy, a former Navy SEAL, called it "categorically false." Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Tom Cotton was blunter: "Whoever leaked this lied." The Pentagon has been planning for a Hormuz closure for decades.
What the Actual Numbers Show
According to the Department of War, Iranian ballistic missile attacks are down 90%. Drone attacks are down 95%. Iran's air defenses have been virtually eliminated. The Iranian Navy is mostly at the bottom of the sea. American pilots have complete control of the skies.
You won't learn any of that from CNN or The New York Times.
Why It Matters
Whether you support the Iran strikes or not, the media's job is to report facts — not amplify unverified Iranian propaganda or manufacture panic for clicks. There's a legitimate debate to be had about the scope and duration of the operation. But that debate can't happen when the press is operating as Tehran's PR department. Grassroots Americans should be getting their news from sources that respect them enough to tell the truth.
